The Bible often speaks about the foundation of the earth. A foundation is usually hidden. You may not see it, but you know it is there because everything stands upon it.
In the same way, we do not see God with our physical eyes, but we know He is there because all creation depends on Him.
God asked Job:
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?”
— Job 38:4
The Psalms say:
“Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.”
— Psalm 102:25
Isaiah declares:
“My hand laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens.”
— Isaiah 48:13
These verses remind us that the earth did not create itself. God is the One who established it.
We may not see God directly, but His work is visible everywhere.
“For what can be known about God is plain… because God has shown it to them.”
— Romans 1:19
Creation points to its Creator. The order, beauty, life, and power of the world reveal that there is a foundation behind it all.
God is not only the beginning of creation. He also sustains it.
“In him all things hold together.”
— Colossians 1:17
Just as a building depends on its foundation, creation depends on God. Without Him, nothing would stand.
You cannot see the foundation of a house, but you know it is there because the house stands.
You cannot see God with your eyes, but you know He is there because creation stands, life continues, and His Word reveals Him.
God is the unseen foundation of all things.
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
— Genesis 1:1
